Muuto lounge chair

In this project, I was tasked with creating an animation that mimics the style of a simple yet elegant product commercial. The focus was on capturing the aesthetic qualities of the product through calm, deliberate camera movements and the subtle play of light across detailed materials.

I worked with CAD files provided directly by the manufacturer of the chair, which gave me a high-fidelity base to build upon. My primary focus throughout the project was on achieving realistic and visually appealing texturing and lighting. I spent considerable time refining the material properties—such as the wood grain and surface finishes—to ensure they responded convincingly to light.

The animation emphasizes mood and craftsmanship, using slow and smooth camera movements to guide the viewer’s eye across the form and details of the chair. Rather than relying on fast cuts or dynamic effects, I aimed for a minimalist visual language that allows the design of the product to speak for itself.
